About Me:
I LIVE WITH CHRONIC PAIN:
"When I speak I share my struggles with chronic pain, narcotic usage and subsequent depression issues. It's my goal to be as honest and transparent as I need to be to help others.  For those who deal with daily pain or specifically Interstitial Cystitis or Mixed Connective Tissue disease you will find a personal connection with what I have to say and hopefully find support and understanding for your own circumstances."   Kim (See interstitial cystitis link for more info.)

I LOVE TO READ:
My most recent reads that I highly recommend:
All I can say is, Deb Raney has done it again! And that's not just because she is a personal friend of mine. As I started reading this I had some flashbacks of "A Nest of Sparrows" that I have read twice. It left me with some of the same feelings because I was rooting for a nest of children while at the same time watching two adults making some terrible mistakes. The great thing was, when those two people, like so many today need to do, stepped back and started focusing on the changes they needed to make in themselves and then put the person they committed to spend the rest of their life with first, amazing things happened! I couldn't put this book down and it stayed with me for weeks. It's a wonderful, awesome read!

I just finished this 3rd installment of the "Daughters of Boston" by Julie Lessman. I loved everything about these three books and this one was really a page turner, keeping me up late at night and neglecting my household duties!  The dialogue is fascinating, the settings, the characters, the humor and enough spiritual food for thought that keeps me full and overflowing. There is not one boring sentence and the twist at the end caught even this experienced reader and writer by surprise!  Secular authors write dirty cheap sex scenes, this book is full of passion but within the boundaries that God instructed us to keep sex for marriage, and it is binding and non-negotiable.  This book is real life and real love.

*Despite all the hype about the Gosselins, I have watched and own the first four seasons of Jon and Kate Plus 8.  I fell in love with the children but when it came to the parents at the end of each episode there was an empty feeling in my heart and I couldn't shake this premonition that they were a couple in danger. Yes, it was the way Kate treated Jon, but also a lack of affection and wonder and awe between the two of them as a couple, that their love had created these blessings, because sdeep respect for each other was missing. And so, there you have it, the big breakup. But then I read this book and I loved it. I could not put it down, reading it in two short days. I recommend it for two reasons. First of all you will understand the real Kate and what makes her who she is and also you will see where she and Jon were at one time and how fame and fortune have destroyed them, despite their unwillingness to admit this is a factor. When you see where they were and where they are now, it IS a factor. I also often think, if only Jon and Kate would have sat down across the table from Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar a few times, long ago......with open hearts......

I had been reading the Twilight saga by Stephanie Meyers, not something I would have chosen but I had to see what all the hype was and with my daughter and daughter-in-laws reading them it kept me in the loop with them :-). In between books I was hungry for just a good Christian fiction so I picked this one up and it was a fast read but a real soul searcher. It touched me in a place that I have always been passionate about. You don't have to have a list of prestigious accomplishments to be a star. God has a special plan for each of us and often it is the ones who work in the shadows who are making a difference. I loved this story and the lessons are good reminders to moms who feel they need to compete with other moms in the "my child's accomplishments game". God doesn't play that game and neither should we.  A great book with a sweet child in it who will settle into your heart and stay there.

I LOVE BEING A MOM:
Being a Mom is more fun with my sweet Steven of 26 years!
I

Weston has been through some really rough times for a young man of 24 years.
But a miracle came into his life when his sister Lindsey introduced him to Shandra, a friend whom she graduated from nursing school with.  We are pleased to announce that as of July 17th Shandra is now our daughter! Weston is a construction worker, currently employed at Lowes, an Army Reservist and veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and a firefighter. Shandra is an RN working in a Pediatric Clinic and also is on the fire department locally.

Lindsey and Alan's combined careers/talents make up a lifesaving team, both physically and spiritually as paramedic/EMT/firefighter/deep water rescue/registered nurse/engineer/missionaries! They are enjoying having Weston and Shandra living in the same town as them and they also are involved with youth work in their church.

Clint and Karry are engaged to married May 7, 2010!  Clint is an Automotive Technician in a large metropolitan area and repairs and maintains car washes. Karry owns horses and  is a cosmetologist in salon, also keeps our family beautiful!

My current favorite verse
: "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." John 14:27

Don't let the state ot his world get you down, remember we are just marooned on this fllen planet...this best is yet to come! If you are struggling in the current financial upheaval just remember this. God is more interested in our hearts, our affections and intentions ,than the amount of money we handle. The most important offering in threBible was less than a penny. Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. (Matt. 6:21)
